Amazon Unveils a [Horrifying] Fanfic Publishing Platform
Today, Amazon announced the imminent launch of its newest endeavor, Kindle Worlds, a publishing platform for fanfiction. When I read the announcement, I was horrified, then angry, then sad. I want to take a moment to explain why this is such a tragedy.
Hades and Persephone for (Eternal) Bering and Wells AU Week
DUDE! These are pretty much exact screenshots from my imagination pertaining to the “manuscript”, Secretions of Philathymna, that I’m writing.

Here is the thing I can’t stop thinking about with what’s happened here in Minnesota over the course of the past week: the display of support in the Twin Cities was staggering. The level of f*cks not given to those who might be offended by this acknowledgement of equal rights under the law was amazing.
But mostly, mostly. I think about a queer kid, riding in the back of her parents’ car seeing the city lit up like this. Maybe she hasn’t come out yet, maybe she’s been bullied, at home, at school, for being who she is. I can only imagine what seeing this would mean. And then I get teary and proud all over again.
Way to go, Minnesota. Who’s next?Wow.
^ THIS IS SO AWESOME :D
YES
I still remember seeing the Empire State Building lit up in rainbow and bursting into tears. I’m not from New York, I’ve never been, but to see a whole building lit up like that just to say it was OK to be me? That was incredible. So go Minnesota!

Instinct Sneak Peek (by syfy)
I actually can’t figure out if this preview makes me happy or irrationally sad.
A little girl in my 4th grade class came up to me after recess and said, “I got married at recess!” and I said “Oh? I didn’t know anyone was ordained under the age of twelve.” and she asked me what ordained meant and I explained and then she said “Oh, well, no, my wife and I were married by the slide, but we’ll be happy together anyway.”
So apparently on school playgrounds, slides are already legalizing same-sex marriage.
